Which story had the best ending? Why?

  1. i think man of integrity has the best ending.it allows the reader to decide how the story ended. either the wife caught hre husband cheating or she was caught snooping through her husbands draw. or it can be that the wife was cheating on her husband and she never knew about her husbands small affair and she got caught. or she was the one testiong out her husband by those phone calls

  2. I think Tralala had the best ending even though it was so grotesque. Even though Tralala wasnt a nice person, what happened to her was really sad. I think it was the best ending from the other stories we read because it was so shocking and unexpected. I dont like stories that have open-ended endings. The ending from Tralala was good because it really caught my attention and drew some emotion from me even though it was a sad ending.

  3. i think "A perfect day for bananafish" had the best ending.it truly wasn't one i would expect just by reading the beginning. seymour seem like he was a normal guy just on vacation, and then he goes off and kills his self was one of the biggest twist of all the stories we read.i thought that he would kill his wife or Sybil, and it throw me way off. so i think its the best for that reason.

  4. In my opinion,"Everyday Use" had the best ending. This is because throughout Dee's whole life, her mother had always given her what she wanted but at the end she finally favored Maggie because she realized Dee's selfish means.

  5. I think Tralala was the story with the best ending because it enforced the idea that there are some things in life that will never change. There are some people in life that are in a vicious cycle. In many ways I feel there is a strong connection between the message of Tralala and A perfect day for bananafish. They both evoke this idea of self reflection as to the direction one is going in life.

  6. I think that Everyday Use is the story with the best ending. The ending was the turning point for the mother, who changed by taking away the quilts from Dee and gives them to Meggie.I like the end, becasue finally Dee learns that life is getting and giving. A person lives happy when she or he shares feelings and material things with others.

I think that Woman at Hollering Creek was the story with the best ending. The ending was good because i like the way that the character was portrayed at the ending. I also Like the ending because it also send out a moral to the readers that everyone can escape any bad situation if they want to.

  8. I thought "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien had a good ending. This is because you wouldn't expect a smart and beautiful girl to become a monster. Although, I didn't believe at first that a guy would actually bring their girl to a war scenario. However, Rat Riley do "heat up" most of his stories. But, Tim O'Brien's are quite interesting.

  9. I think that "A perfect day for bananafish" had the best ending. I feel it was very a thought provocative way to wrap up the story. Instead of leaving the readers with a clear and distinct for why Seymour killed himself, we are left guessing and trying to find clues as to why he did it. This is a perfect strategy to end story because it allows the readers to be left with a deeper impression of what the story meant. This also gets into the psychology of the human mind and asks us what causes the mind to reach its breaking point.

  11. Personally I believe Tralala had the best ending because it explores how a self destructive being would come to an end. Most people would not have envisioned such an ending at it been a fairy tale showing all the wonderful things she got in return of her mischievous ways.

  12. For me one of the best endings was in "Rashomon" by Akutagawa. i liked it because in the end inside servant heart "a certain courage was born" (Akutagawa, 50)that "he had not when he sat under the gate a little while ago". with this courage in his heart he gave to the old woman what she deserved.

  13. tralala had me so shocked at the end. I couldn't believe she was basically asking for all of this and by the end she was just a lost case. I felt bad because she seemed like a poor soul but I liked this ending. I honestly thought she was going to die of AIDS or was going to get killed somehow.
