A good poem is something that is expressed with any emotion and can be relateable to the reader. I feel like a good poem also leaves room for creativity for the reader to interpret whatever they want from the poem, or what the author is trying to say.
I believe that a good poem should have emotion. Being that a poem is much more condensed than a book, the emotions that the author wants you to feel should be shooting out at you. A good poem should also include some sense of a flow. It should be able to guide you through out the story line with a sense of clarity. Since a poem lacks a sense of structure found in novels, it needs to make up for it in other ways. Overall I feel poems should be much more powerfull than any book.
a good poem involves a good and well thought ryhme scheme. the ryhme sheme can be anything from a simplistic ABABA form, to an elaborate form that hides the ryme scheme. also a good poem includes some vagueness and some direct thought into one. a poem can have a vague thought that can allow the reader to to interpret it into his own ideas. a memerable poem must have an underlying theme. for example Poe's poem of the raven has a theme about madness and what can drive you to madness. this theme or concept that a poem explores make a good poem. besides a theme a poem can also have a moral which readers can remember the poem by.
A good poem should retain some ambiguity but also some clarity. It should have some form of rhythm so it can be sung to a tune of some sort. But it should also contain a meaning and not be nonsense.
A good poem has to have some kind of literal meaning that goes beyond thinking about ordinary things. A good poem gets the reader imagining all kinds of things that make them wonder. Most good poems use a lot of imagery to make the reader believe that they are there with the poet experiencing the same thing. The poem could also be very expressional such the poet describing an event that occured to them. Poets such as Langston Hughes interest readers about certain living situations and conflicts that wen't on.
what makes a good poem is when the writer reflects his or her own feelings clearly, because when i read a poem i want it to relate to me at some point. A good title is also important, because it's the first that grabs the reader's attention.
In this class, we will explore individual morality, societal codes, and the relationship between them both as we read prose, plays, and poems that challenge and complicate the binary distinction between right and wrong.
